Is it free to take out money abroad from a cash machine?

im from england and im goin to spain so can i leave my money in my lloyds current account and take the money out in spain without any charges?

NOPE.  If your bank charges you for international or non-bank withdrawals, then they will charge you (for instance, an American bank charges for using an ATM from any other bank...if my card is CHASE, and I use a Citibank ATM, they charge me), plus, no matter what, ANY time you change money, you have to pay a fee for the service. Most cards charge between 1 - 3%, so call your card company and ask them, to be sure.  I DO think that the international ATM usage, my bank did NOT charge me for...so you need to know the policy of YOUR bank.  I don't recall the ATMs charging anything on their end.  (so, like, Bancoespañol didn't charge me).
