Question:

Is it fun being a paralegal?

I was thinking about being a paralegal because it seems like a dependable, stable career. But I don't want to be a file clerk, pushing papers and stapling all day. Plus maybe it seems like lawyers will treat me like a work horse anyway since I would only have a 2 year paralegal certificate. Is it worth being a paralegal? Is it truely a rewarding job?

  1. "Certificates" usually aren't worth the paper they are printed on.  Law offices want their employees to have bachelor's degrees.

WARNING:  Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!!!!  This is NOT a good field to invest in right now.  Reasons:  very bad economy, there are a lot of people today that (mistakenly) think that they can do their own legal work now thanks to the WWWeb, there are way TOO MANY law schools in this country (USA) churning out way TOO MANY graduates to be supported by our country (but the law schools won't tell you that!).  So when you graduate, you probably won't be able to find a job.  If you DO find a job, you will find that working for a law office is:  very competitive, very political, most administrators typically do not care about the employees' best interests.

Suggestion:   Go into the field of Healthcare <<< there are LOTS of jobs there!!!

    Good luck.
