  1. You know - I've had the same thing on occasion. However, last time I wasn't so sure so I decided to go to L&D (it was 10:00pm on a Saturday). I just had a dull back ache and some cramping.

Well, at L&D they discovered I WAS having contractions - contractions I was 100% unaware of except for the dull pain in my back and cramping. They were minor and not changing my cervix so that was good. But they still needed to be taken care of because the OB said they could escalate (that was just last week at 22 weeks and I of course did NOT want that). I was treated on the suspicion  of a asymptomatic UTI and given IV fluids. I must say, after the IV fluids I did start to feel a lot better (the fetal monitor showed the contractions went away with the IV fluid)  - and after taking about 3-4 days of Macrobid I'm feeling MUCH better.

I say when in doubt really press the issue. I really felt that it was silly for me to go to L&D but I also felt that I'd feel even dumber if I chalked it up to nothing and had a problem - which I did - thankfully only a minor one.

  2. I'd go to the ER if your Dr. isn't getting back to you.  Better to be safe than sorry!

  3. sounds like early labor, did your first baby come early? thats exactly how it started with my second.try a shower or bath, if that doesnt put an end to the pain, u may be in labor
