  1. if you're asking if genetics influence your personality and not just your appearance, the answer is yes. especially for your brain. your genes indicate how your brain is formed and what kind and how much of a certain compound it has. the brain is a controversial topic because not a lot of people understand how it works, but yes, genes do influence your brain and thought patterns.

  2. Yes of course that can have something to do with it. It could also be your Great Granny, Great Great Grandfather etc.

  3. You're asking the age old question of nature vs. nurture. Is your personality determined by your genetic makeup or your environment? You might be the only one who can answer that question to yourself. I believe the commonly accepted believe is that you are both "made and born." As far as your phenotypical traits (outward appearance) are concerned, do you think you inherited an imbalance of chromosomes from either parent? I mean do you think you received 23 chromosome from each?

  4. Your emotions are from your environment.  Genetics decide what you are, environment determines what you become.  An abused, ignored or unapriciated child will tend to brow to be less emotional and outgoing person.  They TEND to grow to be protective of their emotions and not show them as much.  One case I know of the 16 year old boy thinks of himself like the android DATA in Star Trek the Next Generation.
