  1. Yes part of the water is exhausted while doing physical work.  To balance that drinking water is suggested

  2. It is very important to drink a good amount of water throughout the day to keep your body properly hydrated. The rec. amount of water is around 64-80 oz per day for the average person and obviously higher when we are physically active so we can replace the fluids that were lost while exercising. Another thing to take into consideration is if you are exercising for more than 60 minutes consistently it may be a good idea to have a sports drink to replace some of the electrolytes and carbs that were lost during the activity.

But, YES it is very important to drink water after exercising to replace those fluids lost and to keep yourself properly hydrated - one good way to judge your hydration level is going to be the color of your urine the darker it is the less hydrated you are and the more clear and lighter color it is the more hydrated you are... just another easy indicator to judge hydration levels!

  3. Yes totally. When you are physically active, your body sweats, and your body uses a lot of water. If you drink water after a workout, it helps your cells to replenish themselves. Water helps the cells clean out waste, and fix any problems. By not drinking water, you can become dehydrated and your body will not be able to repair itself as well. This could lead to problems.

If you don't drink water, you will also feel more exhausted. You should just have a glass or sumthing when you get home. That way you can keep yourself hydrated. Especially since it is still summer.

  4. You are 70% water. I'm sure you've heard that before. When you do physical activity, you sweat. Sweating releases water, a lot more than you'd think. Losing water dehydrates you. Drinking water is the means to replace the water you lost, because dehydration is nasty.

In fact, it's actually better to drink water during AND after physical activity.
