  1. any way you have 8 to 12 % loss of vision -- you have not said + or -  of mark on your prescription----with lens it  is good eyes--ok

  2. bad eyesight, go to an optometrist and ask about your prescription

  3. No not bad. You don't say if it's -0.75 or +0.75 but either way, most optometrists would not prescribe glasses at that level, unless you were having headaches or problems.

Perfect eyesight would require no prescription at all. In a lens that is known as plano, it isn't written as a number, but if it was it would be 0.00. So you see, you're not far from normal.

As to when you would NEED glasses, it depends on whether it's + or - and then your age. As you get older you have less accomodation ("zoom"), this would affect you close vision. So for example taking a prescription of +1.00, a young person would probably cope fine without glasses, at 30 it may cause headaches, at 45 they may require glasses to read, at 60 they'd probably need glasses to do anything. Same prescription.

That's why visual acuity is usually represented by the distance you can actually see compared to normal. This is shown as 20/20 for normal vision. If it's 20/40, it means that you can only see at 20 feet what a person with normal vision can see at 40 feet. 20/40 is the usual point at which you need glasses but there are exceptions.

    Yours is approximately 20/30-20/35
