We have several options, despite what one answer says, but Clarke is looking good for the job. This may not be for several years, but if he continues to contribute his best to the team, I would say he will be a good captain.

Yes it is good, he's a very different and more responsible person now to when he was first selected, he's settled down a lot and it shows in his cricket.

And lets not forget that he is a very talented cricketer and seems to be well respected around the cricketing world and amongst his team mates (which was why they gave him the vice-captaincy over Hussey, who is not seen as captain material after his losses  in the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy). By all accounts he has a very good cricketing mind so should make a very able and capable replacement for Ponting when the time comes for him to retire.
