Is it good if an oil company provided “Shareholders” a report on “Global Warming/ Cooling”?

Annual Share Holder Meeting & Voting for Occidental Petroleum Corp (OXY): Real Issue: #4 Scientific report on Global Warming: Mr. Carl Olson, owner of 100 shares has notified OXY that he intends to present following proposal:

“Resolution for a scientific report on Global Warming/Cooling

… Recommend that the board publish to the stockowners a “Scientific Report on Global Warming/Cooling”, which includes:

1. The global temperature measurement OXY uses in discussing “global warming”

2. The atmospheric gases OXY considers to be “greenhouse gases” with respect to “Global warming/ cooling”.

3. The effect that OXY considers the sun’s radiation to have on “global warming/ cooling”.

4. The sources of atmospheric carbon dioxide that OXY uses in its study of “Global warming / cooling”.

5. The “greenhouse effect” that OXY considers to occur on eh global temperature measurement from the concentration of atmospheric Carbon Dioxide.

OR would this go unnoticed?

Global Warming MEANS "World Wide Warming!" It is ONLY A Political Term = NOT based in Real Science!

The EARTH is covered by "Three Quarters WATER!" Basic Science, it takes ONE-Btu to raise One Cubic Centimeter ONE Degree Centigrade!

HOW many "Gazillion Cubic Centimeters are there ONLY on the Surface of Planet Earth COVERED by 3/4 Water?"

HOW many Btu's would it take TO RAISE THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE ONE DEGREE?

DO THE MATH!

And, were are the Million TEMPERATURE MEASURING SITES on the Many Oceans THAT TELL US THAT THE OCEAN TEMPERATURES ARE RISING? Not!

Oh yes, POLAR temperatures have varied LESS Than one degree in the past 100-Years. Noticed I said VARIED, = NOT RISEN!

The fact that he says "cooling" shows pretty clearly where he wants to go.  Look at this graph and see how much "cooling" there's been in the last 25 years.

Maybe if I had 100 shares, I could ask them to produce a report about the amount of Kala grass an Australian Wombat eats in a year.  Perhaps you don't understand the purpose of a shareholders meeting, it is to present facts about the business the company is involved in and costs and profits associated with the business. If the share holders want to read up on their favorite politically correct issues they can get that from any main stream news outlet pushing this BS today.

This is one of those annoyance motions that activists love to interject into shareholder meetings.  Any share holder can propose pretty much any motion.  I'm actually surprised that Mr. Olson bothered to buy 100 shares since one would have given him the same right.

The usual fate of these motions is that they are not even voted on in the actual sense.  Instead, the board members exercising their proxies issue a summary defeat.
