Is it good/important to have put on weight lift/have muscles for an 800 1000 and 1600 runner?

  1. if you look at the 800 one with kipketer, he definitely has some nice cuts and muscle on him but for the mile not as much with EL G


  2. Well, for performance, no it's not good or important, but it's not bad either(as long as you don't bulk up with 100lbs of muscle you'll be fine)...

    For aesthetic purposes(or looks)... HECK YES!

    I am a high school mile and 2 miler and I can tell you, our training does burn off the muscle pretty quick, we end up like skeletons.

    I started weightlifting 4 times a week and I can tell you I look toned(not bulky) and slim. I'm glad I did this.

    Seriously hit the weight room twice a week, It's important to weight lift to build a nice overall physique.
