Is it good or bad? i m not good in speaking ?

I am not suppose to answer phone calls in the workplace, but sometimes i need to when there isnt anyone picking up the call. I admit that i dont sound professional over the phone, anyway i am not a telephone operator, receptionist or whatever got to do with answering phone calls. but does it look bad on me when i m the one picking up the call but i am unable to speak very well.

Try putting a card next to the phone with notes on what to say, that way you can read it as you answer the phone. For instance, something like "Good morning/ afternoon/ evening and welcome to (name of workplace), this is (your name) speaking, how may I help you?" can help take the pressure off the initial conversation and thus make it easier for you to respond when they tell you what they want.

Also, practise makes perfect, so maybe you could get a friend or a colleague to help you work on it when you have time.
