  1. presuming you don't have a perforated eardrum, it is safe.

Is it "good"?  I don't know what you mean be that.  It is suggested as a safe and cheap way of getting rid of hard dry earwax buildup, that's about it.  I suppose that is a good thing.

  2. It depends on what type of oil you are speaking of. Pure essential oils are sometimes diluted in olive oil for therapeutic purposes, and herbs like mullein flower can be infused in olive oil to reduce ear aches. It is never a good idea to put any oil in an ear where the ear drum has been perforated.

  3. Yes it is safe and good. Garlic oil will actually get rid of earaches. Any old ear oil you can buy at a health food store should be good and made just for the ear. And almost all of them have garlic oil in them. But that doesn't mean you can just put any oil you want in there. Get an ear oil. Good luck!

  4. no, the ear is pretty delicate and it has it's own mechanism to keep things out.

That's why the ear produces wax so minute particles can stick to it and not proceed to your inner ear to cause damage.

It may seem gross but the wax comes out on it's own and you don't need a q-tip that just compacts things and hurts you!

  5. Yes - depending on the type of oil of course.

Olive oil is safe and effective for loosening earwax.
