Is it good that Poland and Ukraine organize the Euro 2012?

It's good for both Poland and Ukraine but both countries need to get busy renovating and constructing the venues to host Euro 2012.

EUFA wil not wait till the last minute for venues to be readied.

Ukraine is co-hosting European soccer's showcase competition with neighboring Poland and the two countries are facing the challenge of building stadiums and upgrading dilapidated infrastructure, such as roads, airports and hotels.

"Both countries are not up to speed on the preparations and soccer officials have warned they might lose the hosting rights.

Ukraine's main hurdle is renovating the Olympic stadium in Kyiv, which is to host the tournament's final, but the country is seriously behind schedule on that task.

Platini flew to Kyiv from Poland where he met with government officials Wednesday to evaluate Poland's preparations. The country has to build stadiums in Warsaw, Gdansk and Wroclaw.

Platini stressed last weekend that UEFA has "no backup plan" right now, but warned that it could find a new host if progress was not made on stadiums. "

First of a i think is good that those European states that are economically beyond average, get a chance to come up to the others be organizing an event such as the European Soccer Championship in 2012.

The president of UEFA, Michel Platini, however has formulated that the EURO 2012 may be taken away from Poland and Ukraine, since they are far beyond projected milestones concerning the construction of new stadiums, and the establishment of the required infrastructure.

So let's hope they'll make up with their deadlines and we have the same interesting tournament as we had in Austria and Switzerland these days.
