Is it good to buy speedcubes on eBay?

Question

I was planning on buying a cheaper DIY speedcube from ebay, but some people tell me it's bad because well... you don't know some things about it...like if it's new or not...but most people tell me that it's great, because they bought rubik's cubes from ebay and it turns out to be fast...I don't know who to believe, so I'm asking for your opinions and see the majorities...and yes I'm a rubik's cube fan...

i have a friend who gets some great cubes off ebay, i havent but the ones he gets are amazing, i no he uses silicon to lube them, but their great.
