  1. Sometimes.  I live in New England, and there are plenty of old mill and factory buildings around that are really just huge tinderboxes waiting to ignite (Fischer Mill in Millbury, MA,  Worcester Cold Storage Building, etc.).  The ones in poor repair should be taken down and mad into urban green space.

However, many old building s can be refurbished into resource-efficient living and office spaces; the refurbishing uses fewer resources than building from the ground up.

I think each building needs to be evaluated separately.

  2. yeah old buildings should be destructed safely

generally  old building contain steel which have a higher level of harmful metals like tungsten,mercury,etc........

These metals when escape into atmosphere can cause many defects & can cause cancer & respiratory defects.

Old buildings are also not energy efficient & the are generally have quiet old method of energy utilization which is much more energy inefficient.

They also have more dead weight which make them & their foundation more vulnerable to earth quake & premature defects in construction.

  3. It is inevitable that some old buildings would have to be taken down, as they become deteriorated and unsafe.

There are, however, some building materials that can be recycled.  Some of the wood in old buildings is really nice, for example.

But there is a trend in some areas to tear down older homes that are structurally sound to put up McMansions.  That is a waste of resources.

  4. not at all, if it is in a good condition

  5. Basically my View is that we have to destroy the new building and built it in the old format anyhow as the principle that nothing is new in this world always what is there is come out so I find all type of BUILDINGS where available here in this world.
