IDK. but my husband knew a few of the patrol when he got hired.  He was always getting pulled over in his younger days and 'spending time with the officers' discussing his latest efforts to restore his beater.

It's never a good idea to get the attention of police officers.  Just remember that next time you see some idiot with a fancy car and a vanity plate.

Absolutely.  I'm a cop and I treat people like I would want to be treated.  Too many people have the wrong idea about cops.  Just because a cop complimented you doesn't mean that he had an alterior motive or anything.  He was probably just being cool with ya.
