Is it good to have Construction Joints in staircases?

I want know is it good to have construction joints in concrete staircases landings, or the corners

You have to have someplace to allow for expansion and contraction of the whole staircase.  It is considered a 'bridge'.  Joints provide for limited movement for expansion and contraction.
