Is it good to have a slightly dirty house with rats?

Question

My home is not very clean but it is over 10 years since I have had a day ill. Does a little bit of dirt keep the imune system active?

Also I have pet rats. These eat all my kitchen waste so none goes in the bin for wild rats to feed on. In the interests of public health maybe more people should keep rats.

Ummmm it depends. How clean are your rats and how much dirt are we talking about? If you're are leaving food all over the kitchen and have rats crawling all over your house, good luck getting a date for anything. otherwise you have a lifelong, party-ready bachelor (or -ette) pad.

no ones house is spotless...as long as its not to over the top...i had to deliver/set up a pc at a house...i had to scrape the floor[when i could find it] with a shovel to put the pc down,now that was dirty...pet rats are ok,not dirty like there disease ridden wild ones..which i shoot...147 in 3 days,you shoot on and its mate comes out and starts to eat it...so i shoot that as well...

Slightly dirty is okay, but if you start getting wild rats then you know it's time to clean up a little.

You're a pretty gross individual! A dirty house will usually contribute to illnesses, you just may luck out and have a good immune system. The thought of rats running around my kitchen makes my stomach turn.

umm if u have rats i think u may need to keep ur house cleaner just for that sake, bc they certainly dont make ur house any cleanier. but its ur life not mine so dont mistake me for being judgemental

rats are disgusting, infact if u call the council they'll come and take them away for free because they're VERMIN.  a little bit of dirt isnt so bad but manky dirt is a bit gross really

Well It is scientifically known that being in a non sterile environment challenges the immune system, thus making it healthier to a point. As for the rats...that one is up to you.

uhm no its never good to have a dirty home but if you can see the floor and there are barely any dishes in the sink then i guess its alright (and the rats have to b yours or we have a problem with hygene cuz thats GROSS)
