Is it good to remove the E-VAT for car fuels and the basic commodities in the Philippines? ?

  1. No because the government needs the taxes for the development of the Philippines (not considering the corruption). The hospitals and public schools are not well funded at the moment and think about what would happen if the taxes are cut back. What would be left? Also, other companies might take advantage especially the gasoline cartels since fuels are more affordable, then they can increase the price and just say again and again that it is because of the world market price. Take note that now that the price of fuel in the world market has decreased, the gas companies are so quiet about the issue that they should roll back their price.

Considering the economic issue we are facing it would be good to remove E-VAT on certain goods especially car fuels since they cost too much, but doing so could greatly the Philippines, Why? as said by Pres. Arroyo in her recent SONA,  that VAT is greatly needed by the country's economy it would serve as to pay for the country's debts, help in continuing goverment's projects (such as building infrastructures, schools etc.) and a lot more. So I think that E-VAT should remain in some products.
