Is it good to take about 1 day off a week of exercise to re-energize?

I have been running pretty hard for about a month and a half now...but pre season is next thursday...today i have NO energy...and this will be my 7th day of running in a row...wut shud i do

  1. yes you def need a day off, you need to let your muscles recharge, one day off a week will not hurt, and will actually help...good luck coming from a former college soccer player


  2. Take 1 day a week off and do strength training instead of running.  Your body always needs a day or 2 to recover from doing the same thing over and over.  I usually do cardio everyother day and strength training the off days.

  3. if you have no energy it would be beneficial to take a day off to re-energize.  since you've been running pretty hard for a while now you need time for your body to recuperate.  you definitely should take a break today.  since you are fatigued you are more vulnerable to injury.  if you train while you are out of energy you could get hurt.  you could pull or tear a muscle.  if you get hurt you won't be able to play in preseason.  take a day off, it won't hurt you it will help you. don't be scared to take off.  it doesn't matter that preseason is right around the corner.  best of luck with your season.
