  1. the IRA (Irish Republican Army) are an organisation that wanted Irish independence from the UK. In the 1990s there were a lot of terrorist attacks in the UK by them (eg car bombs, a bit like Al-Qaeda now) as a protest against Northern Ireland being part of the UK. They are not, however, so active now.

The I R A made their mistake of killing civilians My grandfather and father use to fight over this My father thought it was wrong to send them money But so typical of my beloved Irish after his death we found out he had stopped sending money years before his death but was sending it to a 'boys home in American.,but he would never tell you he was wrong...God I miss the old mick I can still hear him say ''don't be making me give you the back of my hand''

  3. The I.R.A. is the Irish Republican Army, an IRA is an individual retirement account. That stupid banker who named a type of bank account after a terrorist group, must be an Irishman who believes they are heroes defending Ireland.
