  1. Some shampoos have alcohol...

  2. If the alcohol mentioned in the question causes drunkenness to the one who drinks it prior to the addition of the chemicals then it is considered an intoxicant which is naturally impure in Islam, according to the majority of Muslim scholars. Allaah Says (which means): {O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allaah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful.}[Quran 90:5].

If such impure alcohol is added and used in producing the mentioned materials then they also become impure. Hence, using the perfumes, creams, shampoos, lotions which are made by adding the alcohol which causes drunkenness is not allowed because they became impure.

Using the detergents, that contain some impurity, for cleaning other than a mosque or a human body, is allowed as cited by Muslim scholars. So, there is no harm to use them in cleaning tiles, etc.

  3. alcohol is haram not just in Islam but other religions and culture because of its association with making peoples minds slower and weaker and of course it can lead to bad behaviour.

I am Hindu but in my culture it is as much frowned upon as it is in Islam however there is line to draw where those who do drink but occasionally and respectfully knowing ones limits then its ok but still frowned upon by many. I suppose Islam took it one step further to prevent anyone from accidentally crossing the limits which is good as well. My family are totally strict about alcohol and follow a similar rule to how Islam shares its views on alcohol, however I know my family in India keep a bottle of whiskey or brandy for medicinal purposes like when someone gets a bad cold they use it to rub it on the chest or in really worst cases to take a small teaspoon by mouth to enable the body to warm up.

And I am quite sure that alcohol itself is probably not mentioned in the Quran but maybe in the Hadith with reference to alcohol as an intoxication which is haram.

Alcohol is actually an ancient brew from the middle east and was used as part of a healthy diet. it was only when its intoxicating effects were noticed, when it became more developed of course, that it was socially frowned upon but no religion to my knowledge references alcohol as haram apart from texts like the Hadith which may make reference to it as an intoxication.

So to return to your original Q, as the alcohol in not being used for intoxication (for drinking and becoming drunk), it is not haram in that sense.

it is ABSOLUTLY GORGEOUS and i never talk about myself like that.

    .TRULY GORGEOUS.

  6. Think it's only the drinking of "dodgy alcohol" the Koran forbids, but it could be interpreted as being unclear quite what what "dodgy alcohol" means, as such Muslims usually try to avoid drinking any alcohol.

Most of the alcohol in deodorants etc is denatured alcohol which is very similar to meths. Certainly not good to drink, so would certainly be considered dodgy for drinking. But so long as not drinking it there's little problem.

  7. No. Alcohol is only allowed in Islamic heaven where Shaytans product "wine" flows endlessly in massive Islamic wine rivers.
