Question:

Is it haram to be so athletic that you start losing feminine features?

I know being athletic is a good thing in Islam (taking care of yourself in general) and we are encouraged to be active..

But since women aren't supposed to look like men, does that include becoming so athletic that you start resembling a man, physically? (losing b*****s, fat padding the hips, etc.)

I know some women are born with a more masculine physique, but if you work so hard that what was feminine before becomes just like a man, is it haram?

  1. The 3rd picture looks like my old geography teacher lol

  2. not so much of harm to you i 've just hurd its not so attractive.

  3. don't know and don't care

  4. First one i see nothing wrong with

Second one if a female bodybuilder, females can't get that type of body without testosterone, so she's obviously on some steroids.

third one is fine to me. I'd rather be with a STRONG, FIT, ATHLETIC, female that takes care of her body than a women that doesn't. So the third one is perfectly reasonable.

She just takes care of her health.

  5. The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed female-impersonators who are males, and the male-impersonators  who are women. (Sahih Bukhari)

Women should be women, honestly would a man in his right mind marry such masculine women?

  6. I think that the first picture showed two women who are working out to be healthy. That is permissible.

The last two are body builders, and they are trying to shape and change their body in ways they weren't made to be. And I think that anything that changes your body permanently (eg. cosmetic surgery) is haraam.

  7. erm. dont become a female bodybuilder. dont overdo it.

    you really shouldnt overdo anything

when guys avoid you then ull be sorry.

  8. If our bodies are able to do that, why wouldn't it be allowed?  God created us with the ability to have big muscles.  What if a woman had to work a job that involved a lot of lifting?  She would get stronger and her muscles would be more defined.  Personally I think it looks horrible to get so big (2nd picture), but to each his/her own.  As long as they are not using steroids...then it's not God's will any longer.

  9. I have never heard of such a thing! I work out for at least 1 1/2 hour in the gym on a daily basis and I am very fit but do not look masculine at all. I don't know I guess I am very lucky cause I just form my muscles w/o losing feminitity.

But coming back to your concern I have to say that sports-even if you start losing body fat and get a lot of muscles is not haram. But personaly, as a girl, I do not think it is a good thing because one would not look as good. But that is just my opinion;-)

Edit: I just saw the links you posted. I think the first picture is fine. The second & third do not look good at all.
