  1. Nope. So get engaged and get married! No crime in it! !

  2. Ramadan is a mobarak month , and engagment , in Ramadan ,by the shariaa method  is halal , but as islamic public custom ( el Oarf ), you can make the contract ( Katb el Ketab )  in Ramadan and el Nekah after ramadan .

  3. Whoa Bro tell it one step down.

Techically there is no such thing as an engagement in Islam. For me I was getting married to a sister but couldnt consamate because I didnt have the Gift yet. So my Imam put (Engagement) at the top of my contract. we were waiting on the Nikkah. So you could call this an Engagement. Right Now I'm waiting to be married again and i've done ma research. there is not against be married or engaged during Ramadan. So ppl just dont recommend it because newlyweds cant keep there hands off each other. As far as the whole gift think goes its up to her Wali. U ask  him if its ok to give gifts. If you dont ask and you give gifts its like giving a marriage gift without permission.

    So heres ur Jest.

    1. you can get married/Engaged during ramadan

    2. If its during fasting hours shldnt be food (after fastin hours is fine)

    3. You should give the marh gift on the day of the Nikkah or day before.

  4. Like I said to your other question, it depends what your saying by engagement. A nikkah is fine, but having a party with dancing isnt as smart, because it is the month of Ramadan.

  5. Peace..

There is no such thing as Engagement in Islam...

Either u get married, and that shuld be done islamically and with the court so that woman also have their rights.

Nikah is done by a pious muslim...u must have 2 males and females from both sides of husband and wife.

The guy coming over and giving ring without nikah means ur doing haram and so is he....now u shuld stop him from coming over until u married because the more he comes over, the more he'll sin, now do u want him to go h**l?if u do then i suppose u dont marry him, if u dont then get ur nikah done, can be done at a local mosque.

Doesnt matter if there is no party, it must be done islamically and that means straight marriage, not engagement, as there is no engagement in islam.

    Peace

  6. it isn´t proven to be sunnah, to single only ramadaan out to make a nikkah. It is allowed and i would recommend to make the nikkah as soon as possible, and not just wait untill ramadaan has started.

note: The fiancé is a “stranger” (non-mahram) to his fiancée until the marriage contract is done, so during the engagement period (in this example Ramadaan) it is not permissible for him to be alone with her, shake hands with her or go out with her, rather he is like any other stranger.

  7. As far as I know, engagement is allowed but not marriage. 'Nikkah' is the wedding contract - essentially, becoming married - so no, it's not allowed. I think an engagement is allowed, but I'd ask your local Shiekh just to be safe.

Peace be upon you, and congratulations.
