Is it haram to have a name like...............?

christina, my muslim friends name is christina, and shes always talking about how much she hates it, especially as a muslim, so whats wrong with it, is it cause christians.

How can  a muslima name be  Christina ? , she has to change it , Abd-Alrahman Ibn Awf name bfore Islam was Abd-Amr ( the slave of Amr) , and when he became a Muslim , the prophet (pbuh)ordered hem to change it , and Abo Horira , his mname is Abd_Ragman , but before Islam he was Abd-sakhr ,(the slave of rocks ) , and the prophet(pbuh) changed it to Abd- Rahman too .

Halal Muslim names include those of any of Allah's prophets, as well as historical religious figures from his books, angels, light, and other heavenly things.

What about names like Isa, Miriam, Zakaria, Yusef, Yahya, Brahim, Ismail, Dawud, etc.?

Aside from which, those are simply the Arabic versions. Names like Christina and Angela come from other languages, but are just variants.

She probably just doesn't like it or wishes it would be more Islamic because I don't see anything wrong with the name Christina.

most likely she hates it because people tell her stuff like "laish ismik christina, shoo hatha el ism" etc etc.  No doubt it gets annoying.

If the name reflects the non-Muslim attribute, do change it. If not, one can keep it or change it. Like my name, I am a former Christian. I reverted to Islam three years ago. But as far as my name does not reflect Christianity, I did not change it.
