Question:

Is it hard for an American to find work in Canada?

I'll be graduating from college in one year and was interested in seeing another part of the world. I originally wanted to relocate to Germany where I have a lot of family but the language barrier would prevent me from doing so. I'm currently studying economics and have been working in a bank for several years. I wanted to know what the job market looks like over there and if companies regularly discriminate against Americans (heard from a friend). Also is it a must to speak french or can you get by in a large city with only english (working and so forth)?

  1. Canada is a multicultural country we do not discriminate against anyone. If you are American you will have an equal chance like everyone else. There are also programs in ontario that help recent college graduates find employment. You do not need to speak french it is just an asset to be bilingual. In fact not as many people here speak french as you think. You will be able to get by in a large city with only english working and outside of work. You will be fine have no worries. If you would like to know if there are jobs available for when you graduate check certain websites such as www.jobbank.gc.ca, www.edu.gov.on.ca

Those are both really great websites check them out.

Hope I was able to help you out!

  2. If my friend from Russia was able to land two jobs here in the U.S, I'm sure you'll manage in canada.
