Is it hard for an American to meet women in China? Am moving there for a year or so soon...am curious.?

Nope, it's a piece of cake, unless you look like Frankenstein!  I do however suggest, you start studying Putonghua (also known as Mandarin), because English is still not a common language here.

If you come over friendly and natural you will be able to meet people just like anywhere else in the world.

If you come over as an a**hole, rude, bigheaded or if you look down on Chinese people they will not want to meet you.

The only problems you are likely to encounter are language and culture crash problems. In the case of more traditional women this will be a problem.
