  1. Probably not so hard, as you've been to public school before. You know what school culture is like. You're not going to suffer from "culture shock" like someone who'd never been to school. The difficulties you face are going to depend on what sort of life you've been living as a homeschooler. If you're used to sleeping in until ten, getting up and cooking lunch, then working all afternoon, you're probably not going to enjoy getting up early enough for the school bus. If you've been content working on your own choice of subjects, at your own pace, you're probably not going to enjoy being told what to study and when to study it. If you only work at a subject until you understand, you'll be irritated by having to do another 40 sums on top of that. Or having to read awful books, or having to wait while the teacher shouts at people.

If you've been doing a boxed curriculum at home, keeping pretty much to school hours, it probably won't be much of a transition. You'll probably enjoy the extra company.

  2. I don't think it would be very difficult.  You would have to become reaquainted with friends or possibly make new friends.  You have not kept in touch with and readjust to being on a strict school schedule.

There may also be challenges with adjusting to a new curriculum if you used one that is different than what the public schools are using.  It may be more rigid or may be less demanding, all depending on what you used.

Your school counselor should be able to help you find proper placement in classes.  And if you join a few activities, you should make new friends in no time.

    Best wishes!

  3. I was homeschooled till my freshman year of high school, and then I finally got set loose into the world, and it was not a pleasant experience, you can probably imagine.

But I don't really see how a year is that big of a deal.

    Should be fine.
