  1. Yes - you need a graduate degree to get a job in the psychology field.  There is no state that would allow you to become a therapist without a graduate degree and a license.

  2. No. You can work pretty much anywhere. It is hard to find a job that PAYS well with a bachelor's in psych.

  3. My friend who received a Bachelor's in Psychology became a child therapist right out of college. Unfortunately it didn't pay a lot, however he will be going back for a Masters.

I plan on getting a Bachelors in Guitar and minoring in Music Theory. I will teach guitar lessons professionally making decent money while going to school and getting my Bachelors, then Masters in Psychology. I would like to open a practice - but we'll see how that goes.

  4. A Bachelor's in Psyc will probably only get you a low paying job, most likely a government job. IMO I believe you'll need at least a Masters to get a decent paying job. I have a B.S. with a major in Psy and a second concentration in Health Sciences and it's never done me any good at all. If I had it to do all over I believe I'd become an RN instead or just forget about college and become a Union Electrician. Those guys are making over $30.00 an hour and it's a clean, respectable occupation that's always in demand and can't be outsourced. Outsourcing is ruining our country so always choose a job that cannot be outsourced.
