Is it hard making airport connections internationally?

I am 16 and flying alone for the first time in a few days. I have to make a connection in Schiphol in the Netherlands and then another in Minneapolis in America.

Is this hard to do and do you think it is possible to make a connection within an hour?

When making a connection from one international flight to another it isn't normally necessary to clear customs.  You'll remain in the "in-transit" lounge to await your connecting flight.  As long as you don't try to leave this area you'll be fine.  Don't worry, it'll be well marked.  United States law requires that you clear customs and immigration procedures at the first point of entry, in your case MSP.  You'll be required to show your passport and all necessary documentation (you'll receive all of this at the airport or onboard the flight), claim you luggage, and proceed through screening.  Once you've passed through all the inspection stations your luggage will be collected by the airline and you won't have to deal with it again until you reach your final destination.  There will be airline representatives at each point to help direct you. The connection in AMS shouldn't take long at all depending on how close the gates are to each other.  I am assuming you will be flying Northwest (or one of it's alliance partners) since you are arriving in MSP.  According to their website the minimum connection time for international to domestic flights is 50 minutes.  That seems a little tight to me.  If you're concerned check with the airline.  Have a great flight.

Neither airport is all that complicated.  You can get a map of the airport terminal on line by doing a seach.

you should make it in an hour

you will have to go through customs in the sterile area but you won't have to go through security to make your connection it will be tight but you should be fine
