Is it hard on the joints to run long distances?

I run cross country and I was wondering if it will hurt my joints in the long run if I run at least five miles a day.

  1. Your joints may or may not hurt, but your joints will get weaker over time, but don't worry! Stick to running on grass and trails. Concrete is TERRIBLE on the joints. Make sure your shoes are good too. If you have any soreness or pain, ice it! Also, glucosamine supplements can help keep the cartilage in your knees from breaking down as fast.
