Which is better regular saxophone or alto saxophone if you are beginner?

  1. What do you mean by hard? Hard to make noise? Hard to make it be musical?

    There are roughly 23 keys (some have 21, some have 22), though most of the time the saxophonist will only use seven of them. The other keys are alternate fingerings, chromatic changes (going from A to A#/Bb, etc). Don't really worry about this because if you are learning the instrument, you learn each key one at a time so that it isn't as "daunting" to learn them all.

    What are you considering the "regular" saxophone? There is no "regular" saxophone. The two primary saxophones that people play and learn on are alto and tenor. The alto is usually considered the best for a beginner to start on as it is smaller so it takes less air, has the best intonation (though the tenor is nearly exactly the same) and will have more beginner music and band music available for it.
