  1. It is actully incredibly easy to be a vegetarian! I have ben veg for some time now and i used to eat meat ALL THE TIME! I never had a meal with out meat before and now i am 100% meat free! I used to think it would be hard too but now i see that its not.

As for your second question, no, you are never to young to be veggie. I have a friend who has been veggie her whole life.

And meals are no big deal. Ceral and Milk (or soy milk) are easy for breakfast(Just no Lucky Charms because they contain Gelitain, which is made from boiling the skin and bones of pigs and cows) and for lunch and dinner a simple salad or try Boca Burgers. you just throw Boca Burgers in the microwave for 1minute and 30 seconds and you have a meal!

  2. Well, I've thought about it but then I figured...nahh..lol..but i do feel kinda bad about eating meat sometimes too!

  3. awe sweetie its not hard at all!

it was harder for me to live with the awareness that i was a meat eater

    check out www.vegweb.com

    they have great recipes

cook with ur mom and get books from the libraray

  4. I went vegetarian at 12 :D I'm a huge animal lover, so the idea of eating them isn't a happy one.

I'm 17 now and I have absolutly no problems. Meat actually looks sort of gross to me now.

It's hard for about 3 months, then your body gets used to it and you don't crave meat.

Try veggie meat, it's very yummy and it will make it easier to make the transition.

    Good luck!

  5. I became totally vegan 81 days ago after reading a study that showed my degenerative bone disease could be helped by giving up animal products and so far i've loved it.

Lots of pasta dishes with marinara are completely vegetarian and delicious.

Here's a link to my blog where I post my favorite vegan meal, my twelve year old can make it so it's pretty simple. Good luck.

  6. Vegetables are very, very good for you! Vegetarians are the healthiest people on Earth!

  7. You definitely aren't too young. I would get the book called "Vegetables Rock!"

You can find it at Barnes and Nobles, and it contains information for teens, parents, and easy recipes. It's helped me greatly! Good luck, and great choice!

EDIT: And, yes, at first it can be difficult, but it gets much easier as you go along.

  8. No, I think its very easy to be vegetarian if you have sympathy towards animals.

Learn some veg dishes and serve to your mom. She would be happy to eat them.

    Here r some dishes

  9. Hi Emma well done on wanting to become vegetarian. I have been vegetarian for nearly a year now and i honestly think it was the best decision that i ever made. In answer to ur first question i didnt find it hard to be a vegatarian. However i would suggest makeing the trasition in stages if you particually enjoy meat. You could start my just haveing meat meals in the evening at home and choosing vegatarian options at school during the day and makeing you own vegatarian lunches at home at the weekends and then cutting down on meat further until you have a completely vegetarian diet. Also there are lots of meat alternatives for vegatarian that are just as easy to cook as meat. In answer to ur other question i dont think you are too young to become be vegatarian. As long as you eat eat beans and chickpeas to get protein and dark green veg like spinach to get iron ur body shouldnt miss out on any nutrients. I would suggest ordering ordering a vegetarian started pack from peta (its free) this contains further info on the vegetarian diet and some recipes. I hope this helps you x*x

  10. No, I didn't find it hard to be a vegetarian. When I did eat meat, though, I never ate it that often, so this might have made it easier. If you really feel strongly about animal rights then you have a reason to prevail. Don't give up! And no you are not to young to become a vegetarian. I didn't become a vegetarian until I was seventeen, but one of my close friends was raised a vegetarian. She has never had meat and she is perfectly healthy. Another of my friends became a vegetarian when she was about your age and she is also healthy. I eat a lot of Morning Star products (they even make imitation breakfast sausages!), and these can be found in most supermarkets at least where I live. You just microwave them, and they're ready! I like the veggie meats more than real meat and they're healthier for you. I also eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I'm not really a big fan of beans, but I think baked beans are delicious (make sure that it says vegetarian on the can). I hope this info is helpful and good luck!

  11. It will be hard at first because your body is probably accustomed to having meat regularly.

I became a vegetarian slowly, i cut down on meats as much as possible and before i knew it i didn't eat any kind of meat at all.

I've been a veggie for 2 years, and its been great.

  12. no you're not too young. And it's actually quite easy. most places offer vegetarian options these days. And if you miss meat then you can always try mock meats

  13. No, it's not difficult.

  14. well doesn't sound like your mom is a vegetarian :)

your not too young... i went veg around that age too... just be careful with your diet... don't replace meat with pizza and fries and pasta.... eat a lot more veggies and fruits... plan out your meals... think ahead about what your going to eat... go grocery shopping... look up recipes... et involved with your food and try new stuff!

you can start slowly too... maybe stop eating red meat... then stop eating chicken... then fish... you don't have to do it all cold turkey (just make all our lives easier and don't call yourself a veg to other people til you stop eating all meat)

try the "fake" meats... like veggie burgers, hot dogs, chikn nuggets, etc.  some of them are really good! play around with different brands and ways to cook them too.  this will make it easier as you can just sub a soy version in for meat in a meal you would normally eat!

i love the soy "ground meat"... i make burritos, tacos... put it on nachos... add it to mac and cheese (with broccoli)... add it to pasta sauce... lots to do with it!

also get friendly with beans... add it to salsa, make pasta salad (simple! pasta, veggies, beans, italian dressing :) ), add it to casseroles....

and it's not hard... takes getting used to, but very worth it :) the only hard part i've found is putting up with commetns and questions from people who eat meat!  and going out to eat can be inconvenient at times but i can always find at least one thing anywhere i go!

    good luck.

  15. pigs are my favorite animals along with cows and horses...i feel sooo guilty about eating them i just well i was like 6 years old and have always been an animal lover!! My older sister is a vegetarian too...it is not hard at all just don't eat meat i am as old as you and my mom

doesn't make meals around me and my sister i only eat chicken so i am not a pure strict vegetarian...my sister and i just eat whatever is put on the table at dinner...it is hard at school though cause everything at lunch has meat in it usually...yeahh just tell your mom that you wanna be a vegetarian cause you feel guilty letting innocent animals die for our consumption and pleasure...here is a chart to decide what type of vegetarian you will be...

Diet Name Meat, Poultry, Fish Eggs Dairy Honey

    Lacto-ovo vegetarianism

                                 No

                                                      Yes Yes Yes

    Lacto vegetarianism
