I just wanted to ask someone who would know about this. I want to become a officer in either the Los Angeles police department or the Los Angeles county sheriffs department. I have no felonies or history of bad behavior what so ever, my only concern is they do employment checks and I have had alot of jobs in the past none of which I was ever fired from but I did voluntarily quit them. I just wanted to ask if this would look bad for me as far as work ethic is concerned, I am not lazy, I just always wanted to be a cop and the other jobs just got boring after a while.P.s: Do you have to have a college degree in order to become a deputy with the Los Angeles county sheriffs department? Thank you very much!

  1. It's not hard at all; you just have to sign a waiver that says you understand you will look like a park ranger when you get issued a duty uniform.

  2. It's good that you have a clean record but your lack of job commitment might be questioned. You should take some criminal justice classes to see if this is something you want to do.

  3. Are you a gleaming hypocrite? Do you lack intelligence, ambition, and respect for yourself and others? Does the thought of intimidating, arresting, and possibly killing people over traffic violations, drugs, prostitution, and gambling excite you? Boost your self-esteem by becoming a certified tool and revenue generator for the State!

The term "professional" is now devoid of any meaning. Thanks cops.
