  1. It is easier to become a lawyer than a pharmacist. It is harder to get into pharmacy school, you need to spend more years there, and unless biology and chemistry are your thing, the coursework can be tough sledding. Ever speak to a pharmacist? They know more about drugs than some doctors do!

Is it fun? I don't think that's the right word. There is a lot of responsibility and potential liability for negligence (and I assume liability insurance is very expensive) or not complying with state and federal laws. It can be rewarding - good pharmacists are highly trusted by their customers. It's lucrative, but it's not an easy or stress-free job.  You need to be serious about it.

  2. Depending on how long you want to stay in college I think about 8 years

    BIG MONEY!

  3. I think the education of it would be interestingly hard.  You have to understand Chemistry. (which I don't but I like the concept of it)

I worked in a pharmacy before as a clerk, and it was fun enough. I got to work with the public, and meet really cool customers.

  4. I am actually in school right now to be a pharmacist and you have to have the heart to do it. There is a lot of stuff to memorize and pharmacists work long hours (about 70 per week if not more). You have to have 1200 hours of training and its not a typical 9-5 job. You could be working when the rest of the world is sleeping. The schooling could last up to 6 years unless you take online courses that will chop off some time. See I like being kept busy, which is one reason this is a good job for me. Your not necessarily going to find a "fun" job in life. I would recommend looking at this book called Pharmacology by Richard D. Howland and Mary J Mycak. If that looks interesting to you think look into it. If not then good luck!!!!

  5. My ex has just got his degree, it was VERY hard work and has required a lot of effort on his part, but he very much enjoyed getting it. He worked several placements, in hospitals and in the community. You have to be very dedicated and helps to be good at maths, but if you are willing to commit its a very interesting and rewarding job

  6. I'm not a pharmacist yet, but I'm on the rode to trying to become one so maybe I could answer your questions. Pharmacy is a very intresting career that requires ALOT of responsibility. As a pharmacist you are in charge of checking all medications that any pharmacy techs fill and making sure that you are giving all patients the right medication, that this medication is not contraindicated to there condition, and that you are available to answer questions about medications to customers/patients/doctors.

Many pharmacists go to a four year university after school and major in a science (mine is biology) with a pre-professional concentration. You have to make sure that you take classes along with your major that are required to get into pharmacy school. Before getting into pharmacy school, you must take a PCAT exam. Many pharmacy schools look for students who both score well on this exam, had alot of science classes or a BS in a science in there previous college, and have had some experience in a pharmacy as an intern or tech.

    Hope this helps!
