  1. They are common sense questions, IF your hired they'll give you all the criminal code and department policy stuff.


  2. The difficulty really depends on the department and the location in which you are applying. As some people have said it is easy but it can also be difficult. I live in CA and the common application process is written application, supplemental questionnaire, written test, physical agility, oral board, background (hardest part for most) psychological test, and the interview by the Chief/Sheriff. In addition there are a few that fall out during police academy.

    As for the written exam it's not bad as long as you study for it, there are some portions that are based on grammar and such which should be common knowledge. All and all if you have a relatively clean background, at least moderate intelligence and drive and your in average shape you should be fine. Hope it helps. Good luck.
