Is it hard to become a police officer in the Los Angeles Police department??

I heard they have strict hiring polices and very few people get a job in there department, if anyone knows about this I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks alot!!

Its not hard if you have a good past. If youve done drugs within the last 3 years, stolen something,have to many tickets, have to much stuff in collections that can all be disqualifying factors.

LAPD is harder than most, except for those periods in the past when the City of L.A. forced quotas of minorities and women.  These quotas are the reason LAPD had the Rampart scandal, but right now the department is back to picking the very best candidates.  You have to be totally squared away to make the grade.

Most of the large Police Departments are hard to be hired onto.I found that the hardest part is when they ask you questions in person, rather than the written test. They also do a back ground check,credit check and other things.
