Question:

Is it hard to change from Cox cable DVR to HD DVR?

My folks have a Cox cable DVR in Phoneix, AZ.

They want to change to an HD DVR.

They have an HD TV.

Does Cox have to come by to mess in the outside box?

If I stopped by the local Cox Digital Store could I simply trade in the DVR for an HD DVR, hook it up, and it's ready to go?

  1. you dont need a seperate box

The regular DVR is also a HD dvr, in fact you get a few HD stations for free.

What you have to do is pay for HD stations on top of the ones they give you for free.

I have cox dvr here in Orange County, CA.  There is not seperate boxes.

They did just get new boxes, however, with greater storage capacity so if you dont have the latest you might want to upgrade if it is offered there.  They will trade it for free.

  2. you said cox
