the biggest problem is over thinking.

i would highly recommend that when you get a car you spend a few days or maybe a week in a LARGE empty parking lot just having fun, learn how the car will act, how to use the brakes, how to judge distance, what the car will do if you SUDDENLY spin the wheel at 30-35mph etc......

i have been driving for 31 years and the last and only accident i was in was 1991 when the other driver was at fault.  

Edit- learning what other drivers are thinking takes time, next time you are riding in a car just watch the other cars.

It''s not hard, just takes time to learn the rules of the road and what to do when.  In time, you'll be able to do anything you want without thinking about it.  (but you should.) ;c)

Use the turn signal everytime you change lanes or want to turn, 95% chances of tickets are eliminated by this alone.  You will also endear yourself to picky drivers.

I thought the same thing, I was terrified the first time I actually got behind the wheel. I'm telling you though I don't know what took me so long to actually get my license. I Love the freedom of being able to just up and go in my car and not have to ask someone to take me to the store or have to rely on a taxi.

It's very easy, just make sure you have a good teacher. (my hubby wasn't that great..he was a nervous teacher..which made me more nervous)

it's easy once you learn.

things like parking and keeping it in the lane can be kind of difficult at first if you drive a big car like i do,

but after you get the hang of it its superr easy.

and fun (:

the only thing that can get difficult is stick shift. but thats not too hard either, once youre used to it.

and make sure you never try to do anything other than driving while youre driving.. stay safe !
