  1. HEAVY rain is hard, less visibility increased braking distance and at higher speeds  hydroplaning the car just skims above the street on water , it is simple -- slow down a little light rain is not hard.

But if it never rains no one else pays attention so increase your attention.

  2. No

  3. Just leave a bigger gap between You and the car in front, brake earlier, and take corners slower. Driving in the rain is very relaxing.

  4. you must exercise caution...stop distances are increased during inclement weather.

also hydroplaning is a real danger.

and wet roads are the most dangerous at the beginning of a rainfall, because all the road oil and grime haven't washed off yet.

    drive carefully

  5. If you see people drive in the rain in southern california, you would believe it's d**n near impossible.  but seriously, adjust your speed (which means slow down), increase your following distance between you and the car in front, signal a little earlier so the car behind you can adjust appropriately, and don't make crazy sudden lane changes.  Avoid hard brakes unless absolutely necessary to protect yourself.

  6. if your visibility is impaired just drive a little slower, use normal cautions, make sure your lights are on, use the ac so the windows don't fog, and use the windshield wipers.

  7. It's not "hard" to drive in the rain, but certain things can make it hard.  Bad brakes and bad wipers for starters.

With solid brakes, good wipers, and a slower speed, rain driving should be nothing more than slower-dry driving.  A car with AWD also helps!

Good luck, and remember- SLOW DOWN in the rain :)

  8. It's not hard but you do have to keep your wits about you and remember to have your demisters on because you can lose your vision quite fast. The wipers can wipe it quick enough so that you can see ok. As far as actually driving it, you are more likely to wheel spin the car and your brakes are more likely to lock up. So really it's the same but I would stay back from the car in front a bit more and do more observation to make up for the fact the rain has hindered your view.

  9. well theres such a thing called windscreen wipers

    duh

  10. nah. use the windshield wipers. but if its raining REALLY bad, it'll be harder to stay in your lane because you cant see the lines.

  11. It can be VERY different ,and impossible.

I've seen it rain so hard that having the

wipers on their highest speed didn't help.

In cases like that , it's best to pull off the road

to somewhere safe like a parking lot

and wait out the downpour. Have your flashers

on if you have to pull off to the side of a road.

Also really heavy rains can cause flash flooding.

NEVER try to cross a flooded roadway. The road could

be washed out  beneath the water. Or your car could get

washed downstream, with you in it.
