If you are a current teacher, how long did it take you to find a job after you finished your studies? I've read on several sites that it's hard to find employment as a teacher but I wanted to get some more opinions. I'm thinking about going into this career, but it worries me that I may not find employment in Toronto, Ontario (and the surrounding regions).

  1. Declining birth rates are a big problem for people wanting to be teachers.  As far as Ontario is concerned, it is harder to find a job in Toronto than it would be in smaller cities, towns, and rural and isolated communities.

One of the best ways to get an advantage of your competition is experience.  You should think about going overseas to Taiwan, Korea, or China.  You can live well, save money, and come back with successful teaching experience that others won't have.
