  1. Since the Government does not pay as well as the private sector, the supply of jobs will always be greater than the demand.  You should be able to find something.

Just don't expect it to pay well.

  2. "a job" ... Can you be more specific what you are looking for?

While waiting for a response note that the key to finding work generally depends far less on **what** degree you than on the fact that you actually have completed the degree. Companies see the completion of a degree as proof that you were able to focus and self-discipline as well as learn.

Obviously there are some jobs that require specific degrees as minimal competency (these are usually "profesional" jobs like doctor, lawyer, etc) but many companies are willing to hire & train even high-school dropouts *IF* the person shows relevant experience from life or measurable potential (certificates, projects, etc).

A far greater question you ought to be asking yourself is "What do I want to do for my career?" because when you are interviewing employers would rather hire someone who likes the work over someone who just wants a paycheck.

  3. A BA in public administration has about the same value as any  undergraduate liberal arts degree. Few employers are looking for students with that specific degree (in some measure because most of the better universities and colleges do not offer it), and you would find yourself in a hiring pool with graduates in several other fields.

When governments look for specific degrees, it is almost always ones in trade and tech fields like engineering or accounting, and those who do not have the required trade or technical degree are automatically excluded from consideration for those jobs. Remaining are clerical jobs with no specific requirements beyond those abilities any college graduate is expected to possess. A Public Administration BA would put you in that latter category. It should be noted that many government jobs require passing an examination in addition to a degree to be eligible for hiring.

An internship served while a student might be a route to a job in a specific agency, though government hiring is far less flexible than that found in private sector firms.

In short, pursuing an undergraduate Public Administration program is of dubious value. It is unlikely to get you a job ahead of other graduates or to put you on a fast track for admission to a prestigious graduate program, for those are mostly found in schools that do not offer undergraduate degrees in the field. Rather, those programs seek out applicants who have well-rounded undergraduate preparation. A graduate degree is often required for higher level jobs in government.
