  1. It depends on where you live. It is not difficult.

  2. A business license is obtained from the city hall in the city your business is in. Go to the business license dept at your city hall and apply for a license the cost is usually under $75. Your tax ID# is your social security number, if you mean a resale permit that allows you to buy wholesale and sell retail then that is called a sellers permit that can be obtained from the State Board of Equalization, in the state you live. I do not believe there is a cost for this permit, but you will be required to charge sales tax and pay it to your state.

  3. It depends on where you live.  When I lived in Pennsylvania it was ridiculously complicated.  In Florida, it is extremely easy.

Usually, business licenses are issued by the city or county.  In some smaller states, they are issued directly by the state.  If the name of your business isn't your name, you will most likely have to register a fictitious name.  If you reside in a state that has sales tax, you will have to register to collect sales tax directly with the state.

If you live in a town or city, go to their website and see if they have information on starting a business.  Most of them do.  If not, check your county's website for the same information.

Wholesale companies are all different.  Many only ship in large quantities.  A few may ship smaller quantities if you order from them frequently.

  4. Contact your City Hall about the business license. There should be a business permit dept that can guide you. They are not expensive. You also need to register your business with your county, state and federal taxation agencies. Once you are legal you will be able to contact the wholesale companies; however, there are different points of distribution with different qualifications of minimum order dollars or quantities. You may buy direct from manufacturers in some cases while for other cases you will need a distributor. The more companies you put into the loop, the higher your costs and the lower your profit will be. If you are looking for a legal business, the costs of permits are tax deductible. Rule #1... keep good records!!!

  5. In the U.S. just go to the County Building, fill out a paper with your business name on it, the first time charge is more, around $15.00/$20.00, good for 5 years, the renewal is less costly, still the same procedure.

The State ID # is more costly, and more paper work, check with the

State on line, like N.Y..gov. and that will lead you to where you need to check it out and the price and paperwork.

    hopes this helps.
