I'm starting college next week and I'm really wanting to join a sorority. I have a recommendation letter from a friends mom for her sorority, will that make it any easier?

  1. DON'T JOIN A SORORITY. All it is is buying friends... and friends who are NOT a positive influence, may I add.  It's completely pointless, and stupid.  Sororities served a purpose maybe like 50 years ago, but now it's just an excuse to party and w***e yourself out.

Edit: But this is a serious response, and you ARE buying your friends.

  2. It depends on what the sorority you're trying to get into is like.  Many sororities have a certain buzz around campus, and generally the stereotypes have some truth to them.  If a sorority is known for having a lot of rich and pretty girls, then they will probably want to attract more of the same type because the girls in the sorority decide who they want to let in.  If a sorority is known for nice friendly girls, they will also probably want to look for the same.  So decide what you're looking for in a sorority (friendship, social status, an opportunity to volunteer, etc), look for soroities that match that description, and hopefully you will narrow down the field to sororities for which you are a good match and have a fairly easy time getting in.
