Is it hard to get on a Japanese game show?

do they like having Americans on their shows? if you want to be on one do you need to sign up in advance? also if you want to act in a regular show/drama is it hard to get an agent if your American?

  1. No not unless you can speak Japanese. I have never seen a Westerner on a game show that is not a resident of Japan. Maybe a variety show if they are semi famous but that's about it.


  2. Lol, being American doesn't give you any special status in Japan, hate to break it to you. You'd pretty much have to speak Japanese fluently before you even consider looking into acting, but I'm pretty sure they'd prefer a native Japanese person.

  3. The only times I seen a westerner on a gameshow, etc. it was to either

    a) basically make fun of the westerner or

    b) get western opinion on everyday japanese things or japanese life.

    The only times I see westerner on Japanese tv show, gameshow, commercial, etc. as a regular was someone that is famous or can actually speak a great amount of Japanese.
