  1. It depends on how competitive your school is. It wasn't hard for me to get onto the team, but I have a very strong background. If you can't overhand serve,  you probably won't get on the team- - no offence. But, once again, this depends on your league, your competition, ect. You could probably get on a JV or Freshman team, but most varcity teams require you serve overhand- - at least they do where I live.

  2. Practice, grow tall and be agile.  Then try out for team.

  3. i had to try out against 60 other girls nd i made varsity with a hurt finger and bad ankles, so im pretty sure you can do it.

and ive never played club in my life.  plus i was pitted against girls 2 heads taller than me.

  4. nah- it shouldnt b hard, all you have to do is go to the meetings and practice

  5. It's not hard, there's just a lot of people exactly like you trying out. I mean, anybody can make the team if you have potential, but at my school we had about 50 girls try out and they were decent but they picked the 10 best ones. You could take a camp or something over the summer to work on your overhand...personally, I don't think overhands are necessary, as long as the ball gets over the net :D

  6. it depends on how good the rest of the team is...it's ok to play on the JV or freshmen team your first year!

  7. There's only one way to find out. Try out for the team.

Why are you asking us? We don't know anything about your school's team.

  8. OAKY WELL FOR ME LET ME TELL YOU WHAT YOU HAVE TOO DO? YOU MUST KEEP ON TRYING DONT GIVE UP..*BOOTIFULL*

  9. if u are amasing than no.. but i made it so any1 can.. but i have played competitive since i was 11!!

  10. it depends on your high school and how many players are going to tryout.

my first year we had about 15-16 players and although we all got a jersey, some people were benched the whole season.

You should be able to make it easily if you work hard during tryouts.

As for serving, you shouldn't worry if you plan to make JV or frosh. The overhand serve should be taught to you by the coach of those teams- however, you should learn do it b/c it is a much better way for controlling the ball

  11. I think it depends how good your team is.

If you can do the basics, you should be good enough to make it.  As long as you can get a serve in (any serve--underhand or whatever other way) you should be alright.

Height will be a plus if you have it though.

Also if you talk (call the ball, yell in or out, etc.), and hustle (never give up until the play is over or the whistle blows) you will certainly make it.

  12. no not really, you just need to be tall =)

  13. No its not. I didnt know how to play vollyball and i made it to varsity

  14. yes it is pretty hard to get onto a team. youve ahd to at least play a year of club volleyball. but it also depeneds on how good the other people who are trying out are.

Im sorry. Highscools are very competitive for sports and you have to  be able to overhand serve. At least for most school any way.
