  1. Use this website to plan your trip to downtown Chicago from Schaumburg using the CTA, Pace, and Metra trains and buses if you want to use public transportation:

    http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/tripp...

You can also use Interstate 90 to get to downtown Chicago from Schaumburg by car. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_... There is a lot of people that commute to and from the suburbs to downtown Chicago because of work and/or school on a daily bases.

  2. Get on highway 88 east or take METRA...

  3. Metra is the easiest way.  Highway 88 from the first remark is wrong.

  4. For public transportation within Chicago, go to http://www.transitchicago.com/.

Google Maps now provides CTA directions for ponts within the city.

Go here to see how to use:

To get around in the Chicago area, including suburbs, go to RTA's website

    (includes Metra, PACE and CTA):

    http://tripsweb.rtachicago.com/

To get to Downtown via the 'L' (train) from O'Hare, take the Blue Line.

To get to Downtown via the 'L' from Midway Airport, take the Orange Line.

  5. Yes you can. Call RTA/Pace at 836-7000 from any area code in Illinois, and give them the address of where you are going. You can also go to transitchicago.com and type in your information too.

  6. Do not use highway 88.

There are train stations in Schaumburg that will take you to Union Station downtown.

There is also a bus station by Woodfield Mall.

    The train is easier
