Is it hard to hook up that hitch or whatever u call it to your car so u can tow???

  1. Hitch manufacturers make hitch receivers that bolt on to holes in the frame (for that purpose) on most vehicles that are capable of towing.

    If there's not a custom hitch for your car, the installer can drill holes in the frame.

    A lot of UHaul dealers do it, or look in your local yellow pages under Truck Accessories.  Shouldn't be more than $60 or $80 installed including wiring.

    Don't go past the capacity listed in your vehicle owners manual.

    Three considerations - the frame has to hold it, the engine has to pull it, and the brakes have to stop it.

    Brakes is the important thing - it's the reason not to exceed the stated capacity - people can get hurt really bad.
