  1. currently i am learning guitar on my own and i would say its easy

    some of the sites i use are ultimate-guitar.com but you have to know your chords and how to read tab for that or you could use YouTube.com and look up the song and add guitar lesson sometimes people put up the songs or type in the name of the song then put guitar lesson on Google.com thats what i do anyway

  2. No. Guitar is one of the easiest instruments to play. It hurst your fingers a little from pressing down on the strings but youll get calises so youll have more support. It only hurts for the first few days. But its easy and simple. ive been playing for 1 1/2 years and i could play solos and other stuff like metallica and black sabbath. But it should come easy. when i first got my guitar i printed out a guitar tab for wake me up when september ends by green day and i was able to play the whole song. But as long as you practice for 30 mins a day every day you should have no problem. you can also buy guitar books online. i reccomend a guitar book by hal lenard. Best wishes and good luck!

    some websites you should check out

    www.ultimate-guitar.com

    www.musiciansfriend.com

    www.911tabs.com

  3. It is certainly not easy...nothing worthwhile ever is, but you can learn on your own.  Aside from books and websites, the best way to self teach guitar is to listen to all of your favorite music while playing, and try to figure out what they are doing.  Combining that with the basic rudimentary knowledge of music and the guitar you can get from books and websites will get you where you want to be.  But you have to PRACTICE and be patient...you'll get there.  I did...i've been playing for 20 years and I taught myself.  Here are some sites for ya;

  4. It definitely requires you to work at it.  Some people have a lot of natural ability, others of us have to work harder.  I am basically self taught, but I've had a few mentors that have helped me a lot.  If you can find someone who is willing to take you under their wing and get you jump started, it really helps!  Good luck and keep on pickin'!
