  1. It is challenging but can be done.  If you are trying to move up on the Administrative level you have many options depending upon the nature of the industry you work in and the culture of the company.  You can move up to an:

    Administrative Assistant

    Junior Level Administrative Assistant

    Senior Level Administrative Assistant

    Executive Administrative Assistant

    These positions can eventually lead to a managerial position, if you work hard, express your interest, and take initiative.


  2. You can take continuing education classes specific to the software you use, I.E. Microsoft Office, Excel and Word and the like...they are relatively cheap, don't take but a few classes and look good on your resume'...you will perform those tasks better and leave room for other secratarial duties that are more time consuming :)
