I am going to take my written test very soon for the San Diego Police Dept. and I was wondering how hard it is to be accepted and get a job with a police department. I really want this and would appreciate any suggestions to help me be prepared.

  1. Some departments have the luxury of being more selective than others when it comes to hiring. There are several steps in the process of becoming a police officer with the San Diego Police Department. Like many other department's, San Diego's written test consist of questions pertaining to decision making, cognitive abilities, reading comprehension, and report writing/written communication. There are many police exam study guides available that could help you prepare for the test. Get a good night's, eat breakfast, try not to get too nervous. Make sure that you follow the test instructions. Simply having filed bankrupcy and being divorced will not disqualify you from becoming a police officer. It depends on the circumstances. 2. The hardest tests are the ones you really dont have to take.. The background checks and all of the information associated with that. As long as you're fit and ready to be tough... It isnt hard at all.

You will be accepted for bankruptcy and a divorce. As long as there were no assault charges or domestic violence charges in the divorce. Your criminal background is really what matters. If you have been arrested and charged. There is a good chance that you will not be an officer.

  3. The tests can be difficult but the really hard part is passing the background checks, lie detector tests financial background checks, etc.  There are a lot of different things you have to go through to be a police officer.
